Top 6 Mistakes Buyers Make When Choosing a Property

Buying homes or Real Estate properties for the first time can be exciting. People often imagine themselves getting the best bargain only to become disappointed in the end. There are a lot of success stories when it comes to buying Real Estate properties but there are also equally more bad stories about investing in properties which are brought about by the many mistakes buyers commit when purchasing Real Estate properties. Here are the 7 mistakes consumers commit when buying properties in Pasadena.

Mistake #1: Not Hiring a Home Inspector

John has never had any experience buying properties before and he wanted to save a lot of money when looking for a home thus he did not bother to look for a good home inspector or a licensed Real Estate agent to help him look for a good house. He went on ahead and bought a very cheap house he thought was a good buy already only to find out that the property needs major renovation. Now, he is paying dearly for his mistake and is thinking that he can still more money if he just invested on a good inspector to assess the value and status of the house before closing the deal with the seller.

Mistake #2: Not Picking The Right Pasadena Realtor
Another mistake that should be avoided is not picking the right and credible Pasadena Realtor. You need to ask your Pasadena Realtor about her credentials. Is this the only job that she or he does or is it a part time job? For instance, Dianne had a problem with the Pasadena Realtor that she hired. She was too preoccupied on thinking of ways to save money in the pursuit of purchasing a home that she hired a cheap “Pasadena Realtor” who is really not a Pasadena Realtor by profession but just a housewife getting commission from every house she sells to prospective buyers. The thing here is that an authentic Pasadena Realtor has a huge reservoir of knowledge and experience to draw on, combined with local knowledge.

Mistake #3: Buying House Beyond The Price Range

Buying homes or properties that are beyond your price range is another big mistake to commit when buying properties. Couple Bert and Mina are looking for a new love nest where they can start building their own family. However, the couple is too idealistic about what they want for their house and ended up buying a unit than they can normally afford. As a result, they have to cut back other costs like electricity, gas and they have to suffer not going on vacation just to pay for the very high mortgage.

Mistake #4: Not Being Able To Pick The Right Mortgage

Choosing the type of mortgage is very important so that you will not be overburdened with paying very high rate every month. To expound on this, let us look on the situation of Sid. Sid is a young manager who moved in an new home with his young family. They plan to stay in the state of Florida for only a couple of years before he will be eventually given another branch of his own in another state. He did not have any idea about mortgage payments thus he choose a fixed rate mortgage only to find out that the lender did not adjust his payment terms and thus even if he has already moved to another state now, he still owes the bank a huge deal of money due to the wrong mortgage type that he has chosen.

Mistake #5: Wrong Re-Financing Scheme

To lower the interest rate of the mortgage, some people seek many financing schemes. This is what happened to Patrick who started taking re-financing to help him carry the burden of a very high interest of his mortgage after 10 years of paying the mortgage. So, Patrick made a new loan worth $100,000 to repay the existing loan balance of his mortgage. However, what he did not consider is that the value of his property has gone down already thus instead of being able to save more on his interest rate, he is now struggling to pay the new loan that he made. He should have considered refinancing his mortgage earlier when his house still has a high market value.

Mistake #6: Displaying Urgency

Linda wants to move into a new apartment unit fast and she sought a Pasadena Realtor to help her find a good until. However, Linda’s excitement and urgency got the best of her. Sensing her need to relocate to a new apartment, the Pasadena Realtor offered a full price to her instead of placing the lowest bid to the apartment. Unfortunately, not knowing whether she got a best buy or not, Linda signed a deal with the seller only to realize later that she could have saved more if she played the reluctant buyer in the first place. Always play the reluctant buyer when it comes to looking for properties.
To avoid these problems, you need to make sure that you hire a reliable Pasadena Realtor. I met mine at the La Grande Orange Café in Pasadena. The good thing is that I was able to talk to Michael Gentile to help me find the right home and he gladly told me the top mistakes that I should not commit when looking for homes with a Pasadena Realtor.
